When You Don’t Like Someone, Get Closer and Get Curious

When there is somebody that you vehemently don’t like (or even just don’t like a little bit), my suggestion is to get to know them better.

It is almost always true that what you assume about a person from afar isn’t true.

So throw away what you think you know about somebody and just get a little closer and get to know them – even a little bit.

Not liking somebody often means that you are making assumptions about them. You are assigning them qualities (maybe qualities from your own self?) or you are misinterpreting their actions (or lack thereof).

I challenge you to simply get a bit closer – get to know them.

Find out what really makes them tick, who they really are, their history, what they love, their fears and insecurities.

Each person in this world has a rich backstory, each person deserves to be known.

People are surprisingly interesting and complex.

Get closer, get curious and listen.

You might just be surprised.
